Welcome to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church of Springdale, Arkansas. Come & See!
Our Parish Community
Our Parish Community, served by the Fr. Paul Fuller, is under the Diocese of Miami and the Southeast
served by His Grace Bishop NICHOLAS
of the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of North America
.
As part of the Church of Antioch
, we trace our roots all the way back to the ancient city of Antioch where the disciples of Jesus Christ were first called “Christians” (Acts 11:26
).
The Orthodox Church
The Orthodox Church is the oldest and second-largest Christian group in the world. We are called by God our creator to worship and follow Him, and to proclaim to the world His message of love, peace, and union with Himself through healing.
God loves all mankind and desires that everyone would believe in Him, know Him, abide in Him, and thereby receive eternal life in Him. To accomplish this, God Himself came into the world as a man, Jesus Christ, becoming human that we might become like God.
To learn more about how God has revealed Himself to humanity and to discover historic Christianity, read through our menu pages. You will also find resource links to other websites that might help you on your journey. But most of all we encourage you to Contact Us and to “Come & See.” We look forward to getting to know you.
For a concise statement of the fundamental beliefs of the Orthodox Christian Church read our Statement of Faith – the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed – which our patron, Saint Nicholas, helped compose in AD 325.
St. Nicholas, Bishop of Myra
St. Nicholas was the Bishop of Myra in Lycia (present-day Turkey). He is known not only for many miracles but also for his love and compassion for both children and for the poor. He was present at the first Ecumenical Council in Nicaea and was a staunch opponent of the heresy of Arianism
. A beloved saint throughout the world. O Holy Father Nicholas, pray unto God for us!
