Welcome Ancient Christianity to the Ozarks
Dear Friends,
By the Grace of God, the hard work of your parishioners, and the
intercessions of St. Nicholas, we have a wonderful piece of land! We
were able to buy it with the generous gift from our dear Rosel
Templemeyer, Memory Eternal!
Now the real work begins as we plan and undertake the remodel of
the metal building and construction of an Orthodox temple. We have
hired Marlon Blackwell
Architect to undertake the project. And our very own Don Lourie
of Lourie Construction will be contractor. This is a community effort!
We need your prayers, funding, and a lot to elbow grease to get it done.
We need your help. The people of the Ozarks need to hear the fullness of the Orthodox Faith! Will you join with us?
— Fr. John Atchison, Founding Priest

The next time I come
I want to greet you
in your own church.
Go get a building
and make it a church!

Dreams
Our dream is to see this site crowned by a beautiful Orthodox
Christian temple — to be a gathering place, and a place of prayer and healing. Buildings to support the education and fellowship needs of our community will be located nearby but positioned so that they do not distract from the temple — worship of God is central to our life together. We envision incorporating
Ozark architectural elements into our buildings, while remaining true to our tradition.
Other dreams:
- A bell tower to call us to prayer
- Cemetery for the faithful
- Fountains and gardens to invite the world in toward worship
- Paths to walk, with icons
- Skete for one or more monastics
- Studios for iconographers and artists
- An Orthodox parochial school

Quick Facts
We have hired Marlon
Blackwell Architect for this project. The property we are purchasing is on South 48th
Street in Springdale, AR. We are situated in front of a large public park and
visible from I-540. There are three more churches on this stretch of road making
us the fourth.
- 2.98 acres overall
- 1.75 acres with 40'x60' metal garage
- 1.25 acre with house and pool
- 1.1 miles south on US-412
- 500 feet from I-540
- 4.6 miles from our current location
- 0.4 miles from planned I-540 interchange
onto W. Don Tyson Pkwy

We seek to raise $250,000 during the church years beginning September 1, 2008 and ending August 31, 2015 in order to pay off the
construction costs. We will then be able to plan and proceed with the other building projects.
We invite you to prayerfully consider joining our parish in this goal. Your prayers and offerings will be greatly appreciated.
Help make our vision a reality through your gifts.
